The excretory/secretory (E/S) antigens of Toxocara canis, after separation by electrophoresis, are electroblotted to the surface of a nitrocellulose membrane (called transfer), which is cut into 24 numbered bands from 1 to 24 numbered strips. Carrying out the test: Each serum sample to be tested (or CSF/chamber fluid) is incubated separately with a strip. The potential anti-Toxocara antibodies present in the sample selectively bind to the T. canis E/S antigens. The alkaline phosphatase anti-human IgG conjugate then binds to the bound anti-toxocara antibodies. Finally, the immune complex reacts with the substrate. The IgG antigens present in the samples are shown as violet transversal bands
